The Two Jungle Books, by Rudyard Kipling, first thus combined edition, first printing, Doubleday, Page & Company 1925 Hardcover. Illustrations by J. Lockwood Kipling, C.I.E. and W. H. Drake. Original publish deep red cloth covered boards with bright gilt illustrations on front panel, gilt illustrations and lettering on spine. Full-colour frontis, plus many illustrations in black and white throughout. A newspaper clipping tipped in at back reads “Noted Artist Found Dead in Hotel Room”, dated one year after the publication of this edition of Kipling's book. The death was the subject of a police investigation at the time. Book is approx. 10”, 7”, 576 pages, hard cover red cloth, gold stamped title and design at cover and spine. Shows light edge wear, otherwise in Very Good++ condition.
