This is such a lovely print of one of my original designs, one of my favorites. The ORIGINAL is a TRADITIONAL BATIK. Batik is a process of dying fabric and painting with wax. The design is created in stages as different dyes are used, waxing after each dying, to SAVE that color. Layers upon layers of wax and dyes and wax and dyes; it is quite a process.

I print the design directly onto fine, silk Habotai that is 8.5" x 11". The silk print is paper-backed which keeps it nicely flat. The print will come to you with a 1/4" foam core insert. I attach what I call a "backing plate" on the back of the foam core. This tells about the process of BATIK OR it tells a bit about Egret and their history. Both are informative. Please take a look at the two backs and let me know if you have a preference, otherwise I will choose. Comes in a plastic sleeve.

This is a gorgeous SILK PRINT which I will create for you. Print fits within an 8.5" X 11" mat for framing. (Print comes with a 1/4" white border all around that is standard for this size print.

This is not only a spectacular design but the actual printing on the silk is gorgeous: rich warm tones, golds to reds, very lovely. It is perfect for that lover of the magnificent Great Egret.
