Large hand carved wooden folk art statue of a man chopping wood. This possibly Central or South American in origin and most likely dates to the 60s or 70s.
This is in discount interesting, stately and beautiful piece of craftsperson carving with natural imperfections in the wood and a great wooden patina. This type of wood carving was normally done using any wood available. It makes an interesting statement piece for a den or informal living area.
It's quite heavy and it's size is 33" tall. The base size is 6½" x 9"
