Estonian lace is known for its unique stitch called nupp (bobble). It requires more yarn, experience and can only be done by hand. Back in the day, when Estonian lace was getting more and more attention, nupps were sort of proof, that this is hand made. Using nupps creates a lot of possibilities to design something very special and unique.
