Celluloid Hand-Mirror/Looking Glass “Ivory Pyralin” French-Ivory Dupont/DuBarry Monogrammed Bakelite discount Vanity Pair 2pc SET Vintage Pre-1917

This is a vintage pre-1917, pair of cream colored, celluloid hand-mirrors also known as French Ivory. These both are heavy & thick items with an incised monogram on the backside and a beveled-edge mirror. The longer one measures approximately 1/2 inch thick by 13.5 inches in length and has an oval mirror measuring about 5.5 inches wide by 8 inches wide. This hand mirror is stamped “Ivory Pyralin just under the mirror which I believe dates it to pre-1917. The round mirror measures 1/2 inch thick by 12 inches in length with a mirror diameter of 7.5 inches. This hand-mirror is incised with a tiny, tiny, tiny star just beneath the mirror. The celluloid frames on both mirrors have wear including discoloration, scratches, marks/spots & missing black to the monograms. The handle on the larger mirror has discount turned a darker ivory color. The oval, glass mirror has some discoloration and 2 spots while the round, glass mirror actually looks pretty good. No noticeable scratches to the mirrors. These certainly are useable hand-mirrors or great ones to decorate & embellish as some crafters are now doing. They are being sold as a set only.
