Product code: Emperor Bushcraft Fire discount Lighting Ferro Rod Yorkshire Sycamore, Ferrocerium

The ferro rod is used for starting fire-starters. It will work even when wet. And is a must for any body who is into bush craft and the out doors.

Ferrocerium is a man-made metallic material that gives off hot sparks at temperatures of 1,650 °C (3,000 °F) when scraped against a rough surface such as ridged steel, or the back of your knife.

With the introduction of a metal lathe to the workshop. It was only natural to try and make some metal handled ferro rods. They are all hand made by me in my Yorkshire workshop. And no 2 are exactly the same.

I have machined this one from Brass and its a beast.

The handle includes a black woven paracord lanyard, and a matching Brass bead. The end of the handle unscrews to reveal a secret stash compartment, which is perfect for storing some emergency tinder.

I have use a Giant 12.5mm diameter rod. The overall length is 195mm and the striking length is 110mm long.

I've included a picture with my Sky remote control. To give you a true sense of scale, for this beast.

The Emperor is a massive rod that will last for years.

Need a belt sheath for your new ferro rod, just check my other listings. I have some gorgeous leather ones ready and waiting.
