Offered is a handheld maze game dating to discount the first world war.
This is a wooden framed, glass fronted, game in which the player navigates a steel ball through a maze of traps with the aim of getting from the "Entrenchments" to "Berlin".
The Victoria & Albert Collections list this as first being published in 1914.
This is both a collectible game and a piece of social history. The simple wooden frame has mitred corners. That holds a pink and green card maze, printed with various hazards and German cities. There is a single steel ball. The reverse has a partial makers label.
The game measures approximately 9 1/2 x 6 1/2 x 1 inches.
Condition: some surface dirt and marks but complete. Joints are tight. No damage other than the tear to the back makers label.
