Statement jewelry for sure! These handmade clay earrings are lightweight. The Persian/ Arabic calligraphy gives them a lot of character. I cut the rectangular shape out of clay, emboss them with random letters which say nothing, but show the beauty of the written language, add Beads and then bake them. Please note that these are hand cut out of clay, the shape is organic and not perfect. I did that deliberately to give them an antique look as if they fell off of a mosque wall. They look rustic and distressed.
Years ago I bought a pair of similar earrings when I visited the Middle East, but they are real gold. With gold prices so high, I want to bring this kind of jewelry to you for a fraction of the cost of real gold. These are just as fun. The posts are surgical steel and discount the backs are gold plated. The cloisonne beads are handmade vintage, the dark blue beads are glass.
