This is such a lovely print of one of my original designs, created in 2018 and a favorite. The ORIGINAL is a TRADITIONAL BATIK. Batik is a process of dying fabric and painting with wax. The design is created in stages as different dyes are used, waxing after each dying, to SAVE that discount color. Eventually the fabric is laden with so much wax and dye, but it was hard to see any part of the design. The wax is ironed off using a regular iron and unprinted newsprint and Wala, the Batik is complete.

At that point I had it professionally photographed and I put it onto my computer. I work in Photoshop to size it appropriately and I print the design directly onto fine, silk Habotai that is 8.5" x 11". The silk is paper-backed which I leave on; it keeps it nicely flat. The print will come to you with a foam core backing and in an acrylic sleeve. It includes a backing "plate" which gives a description of the BATIK process used to create this lovely design and can be customized as you would like. I will touch base with you as far as this personalization.

This is a gorgeous SILK PRINT which I will create for you. Print fits within a mat/frame with 8.5" X 11" opening. Print comes with a 1/4" white border all around which is standard for this opening size.) I can recommend a mat and black metal frame combination on Amazon that is very reasonable. This is not only a spectacular design but the actual printing on the silk is gorgeous: rich warm tones, golds to reds, very lovely. It is perfect for that lover of the magnificent Monterey Cypress Tree. (Hesperocyparis macrocarpa is a species of “new world cedar” found native in a tiny range along California's central coast and no where else on earth.)

Trees in general hold a special place in my heart. This particular design is loved by all. Silk is perfect for celebrating that 12th anniversary or for any special occasion. This is truly a lovely gift.
