2 Vintage Short Story Nightstand Books. The Bedside Esquire (c) 1940 and My Story That I Like Best (c) 1925. Shabby HC. Hemingway Steinbeck, Fitzgerald, etc.

This listing is for both books which contain short stories that are perfect for reading in bed (although you can certainly read then anywhere and any time you like!). The stories are short enough that you can finish them before your eyes get so tired that you have to put your book aside.

The covers of both books are in good shape but do show signs of wear and use, all cosmetic (i.e. could include dings, scratches, wear & tear, fraying).
The inside pages discount are free from any markings or tears.
The bindings are sturdy; very suitable for your reading pleasure.

Part 1: 'Shocker' Stories
Part 2: 'Relaxer' Stories
Part 3: "Good" Stories/Literature
Part 4: "For Men Only" Stories (the description of this section is so mid-century in its verbiage: "Part Four could be called the section For Men Only, because it is not only next to null in interest to women readers but also goes, in good part, directly against the grain of the influence (not to say the domination) of women readership on general magazine contents. ...literally strewn with the tablets of broken taboos. ...women don't like to read about snakes (featured in A Shipment of Mute Fate, and A Snake of One's Own), nor about rats... nor about their erring sisters... (you get the gist of it!)
