At the bottom of the case are Kanji 日本語: 兵庫県立西宮南高等学校 which translates "Hyogo Prefectural Nishinomiya Minami High School." The iron case is an authentic green nambu tekki cast iron. This red ink container is sold as is. Unsused old red ink paste still inside the old container. Can be refilled with new red ink paste. Old ink case can also be used as paper weight. Old and used item, please expect wearing.

Nambu Tekki is a traditional ironware that has been produced since the 17th century in the area known as Nambu (around Morioka in Iwate Prefecture). Specifically, the ironware is produced in the two cities in Iwate: Morioka City, and Mizusawa City (which is currently a part of Oshu City). Nambu Tekki is known for its deep black beautiful form with practical function. Due to its complex production process, Nambu Tekki requires superior craftsmanship; there are 68 steps in making a standard kettle. It is said that it takes at least 15 years to become a decent ironware maker, and 40 years to become a master craftsman. There are many other ironware products including pots, pans, ashtrays, paper weights, bottle openers, streetlamps, wind chimes, and metal ornaments. Nambu Tekki is eco-friendly, and as long as you dry the ironware after each use, surprisingly it discount can last more than 100 years!
