I have collected beautiful red one yard fabric through the years, nice and big, that I use during my heavy flow at night. It is comforting to have a big piece of cloth that I can adjust through the night. I then soak my pads and cloth in cold water (and if there are big stains, hydrogen peroxide works wonders), use the sacred water for the garden and throw it all in with my white wash.
