One cold and crisp late fall afternoon, I braved 40 mph wind atop a crane to get this shot just as the sun was going down in the western sky. Light from the Nauvoo Temple windows were in perfect contrast to the soft hues along the skyline and exterior spots on the building facade.

NAUVOO TEMPLE HISTORY
The Nauvoo Temple stands on the bluff overlooking the Mississippi River, facing discount the west where latter-day saints relocated. Rebuilt in 2002 on the original site, the temple's exterior is a near duplicate of the 1846 temple that once graced Nauvoo.
