On offer is this lovely small sized match holder. It's in good condition overall, no chips cracks or restoration - extensive loss to the gilded highlights as well as notable rubbing and color loss to the decoration; notable darkened scuffs and scratches to the interior base of the recessed area but as shown all adding to the aged charm and character of the piece.

It's of traditional rounded bulbous form which has been beautifully hand decorated all over with an attractive floral design - the detailing is of a good standard and the colors still display well despite the evident ware.

The slightly textured body would've been used to strike matches on originally but modern "safety" matches will not work - non-safety match brands may.

Marked on the underside for Taylor Tunnicliffe, & Co, circa late 19th century.

It measures a charming 62mm in outer body diameter - 28mm inner diameter - 50mm in height and despite the condition issues raised is ready to be collected and enjoyed once again!
