Kannon-goddess of mercy in Japanese mythology, capable to reincarnate. The image of Kannon came to Japan from China along with the Buddhist creed, where there is a match in the goddess-bodhisattva Guanyin. Kannon is associated with the appearance of Maneki-neko — lucky charm in the form of a cat with lifted paw. Head over to Goddess cross in the circle is the emblem of the clan Shimazu (Satsuma).
