DESCRIPTION:
This mat has been made with a beautiful wool from heritage breed sheep such as Lincoln Longwool, Navajo Churro, Shetland, Cotswold and Border Leicester as well as Icelandic & Alpaca. The stunning locks on each end are from a lovely Lincoln Longwool lamb named Gwendolyn.

All of the wool used in the making and designing of this mat was shorn for the sheep's pleasure & yours as they are alive & well, happily roaming the fields on their small family farms.

This loomed piece is artistically made using natural, undyed, unbleached wool. Because I use fleece instead of processed fibers, the individual character & texture of the sheep's locks are artistically apparent which adds an exquisite texture and color nuances. It is quite soft and thick so please take this into consideration if using as a table mat

THE PROCESS:
Felting is a labor of love with each piece being designed & artfully crafted entirely by hand. The end result is undeniably lovely and because of the hand made nature, you can be assured that no two mats will ever be the same. In fact, they will assuredly be "imperfectly perfect" with all of the characteristics of the natural wool emerging in each carefully designed piece. That, to me, is what makes each mat such a beautiful art piece for you to both use and enjoy!

PLEASE NOTE:
The wool & locks I use is purchased directly from & supports small farms & shepherds. You will inevitably find bits of hay or wild vegetation occasionally intertwined within the felted layers which adds a unique artistic & organic quality to each hand designed piece.
