Vintage Keen Kutter #5 jack plane has discount a Corrugated Bottom and Measures 14" Long, blade has the Keen Kutter logo on it with lots of length, cast base stamped KK5 on the toe & may have been painted, rear handle has had a chip at the bottom repaired (see picture) overall this one is a lovely user plane in good working condition with a freshly sharpened iron at 25 degrees.
The Simmons Hardware Company was a hardware manufacturer based in St. Louis with locations in six states. They sold Keen Kutter planes and other Keen Kutter tools from 1874 until 1940 when Shapleigh Hardware Co bought them out.
The “KK” series are Bailey style made by Ohio Tools (Earliest)
