Vintage Swiss Alpine (GONDO) Hand Carved Wood Chamois Deer Inkwell and discount Pen Stand

This is a beautiful hand carved wooden inkwell and pen holder featuring a Chamois deer standing under a tree. The whole piece is just over 5 1/2" long, 5 1/2" tall to the top of the tree trunk and 3 1/2" wide. Sometime in its history it has been separated from the glass inkwell insert. The piece is a discount wonderful example of expert carving and was done by a real wood artist. The piece is in wonderful condition and has a great old wood patina. I believe it to be of Swiss alpine origin.
