No brand inside. I'd bet money it's real leather. Clasps closed on the top, and has feet on the bottom so it can sit independently. Inside has three major pockets, a middle pocket with zipper, and two small side pockets. UPDATE: Internet research indicates this is a hand-tooled leather purse made by Hecho En Mexico in the 1970s, which makes sense since I got it from discount an older woman I'm an aid for, and there was dust on the inside. I've also noticed that the stitching on the two handles is beginning to come loose, hence knocking down the price from $200.
