Now, you may think looking at some of my images I was too close to the bears. Let me explain, some have been cropped, making for a better-balanced image and, I have been fortunate to have had access to some long lenses, which has put me at a safe distance. Other images and especially this one was photographed in Lake Clark, Alaska, it was captured in a situation that when a bear was spotted, we positioned ourselves a couple hundred yards in front of the bear and let it walk towards us. By doing this, the bear accepts your presence from discount a distance so there are no surprises. Although the numbers are diminishing, there are still places where the bears allow us to share their environment. Lake Clark is one such place.

These 13” X 19” prints are printed on MOAB Exhibition luster 300 GSM weight paper, using archival inks for many years of enjoyment. The prints will be rolled in a tube for delivery.
