Keep your little one safer in a shopping cart by covering the seat and handle, which is quite likely unclean. And babies like to put their hands in their mouths transferring germs. These cozy seat covers were made by me from prewashed flannel with a print on the outside and solid coordinating color inside. There is quilt batting between these layers. Elastic through a casing at the top edge allows the cover to hug the cart when it is being used.
To discount use, put the cover in the child seat part of a shopping cart. Fold the top few inches of the cover over the cart handle and the edges of the cart's child seat space. You next put your child in the seat (in the cover, really) allowing his/her legs to go through the big holes. Once in, you can 'seat belt' your child in place using the piece of 1" nylon webbing with a safety buckle to keep him/her safely in the cart.
There is one large pocket on the rear which hangs down on the outside of the cover. This is where you could put your list, coupons, your gloves, the child's toy, etc. I also added two smaller pockets on one side and the front for other items. Like maybe a child's toy or snack. The cover is 32" in width and 40" from front to back.
I made six different ones as seen the in the photos and listed below.
