Hangers are on every tile for wall display unless SPECIFIED "NO HANGER - FOR INSTALLATION"
Tile production is quite labor intensive, alll done by myself, starting with an original design on paper, followed by hours of sculpting the master tile in clay. Then a plaster mold is made and after it is cured, the tiles are made by hand pressing the clay into the mold with a levered tile press (strong right arm!)
and then set out to dry for two days followed by time spent on cleaning and detailing; then when bone dry are bisque fired for 12 hours in a small batch kiln. The bisqued tiles are triple glazed by hand with a discount brush and then fired for another 12 hours. The last steps are attaching a hanger on the back and the final packaging.
I like to think of my tiles as small bas relief sculptures: fine art, handsomely crafted and affordable.
