Since the factory seal was broken and although unsealed, the set is complete and was carefully hand-collated to ensure that all 402 cards are in the set and determine that their condition was near-mint/mint discount. Numerically, the set goes to #407, however there are only 402 cards in this reprint set. Five cards are missing which are noted with an asterisk on the back of the box. Topps could not secure the rights from those players. The missing five player's cards are #20 Billy Loes, #22 Dom DiMaggio, #159 Saul Rogovin, #196 Solly Hemus, and #289 Tommy Holmes. The box displays cosmetic wear to the corners and edges after 40 years of long-term storage. Otherwise, the box is completely intact. The set's checklist is printed on the bottom of the box. Approximately 10,000 1952 reprint sets were produced by Topps. This set is a bargain compared to trying to acquire an original set of 1952 Topps baseball cards.
