Steel discount & Leather Gorget

This is a handmade steel and leather gorget made in my shop. Leather may be dyed for an additional charge. The steel options include 16 gauge hot rolled (gray) or 16 gauge cold rolled mild steel (dull shine), and 18 gauge stainless steel (bright shine [not mirror]). Rivets are no longer made with copper (unless by custom order). Rivets and buckles are steel. See pictures 2-6 for examples of our new rivets.

Two piece construction with overlapping plates makes this piece fit nearly any neck size. Recommended use over a gambeson or padded mantle. We are not responsible for what you do with our pieces. Check with your local marshal (etc.) before using in combat to make sure it fits the local rules and regulations for your sport (Is SCA legal in most kingdoms, I use it in An Tir).

When ordering please be sure to tell us your neck circumference in the notes. Although our gorget is adjustable in two different ways, it is helpful to have this information to make sure it will fit. The distance to chest is essentially how far down you want the front and back of the gorget to extend. You way want to adjust this measurement if you fight with a breastplate or other chest armor. Typically we make these extend 5-6".

You can now order your gorget with a padding + sued liner stitched into the neck (+$50). You will see these options as: HR16g + Padding (Hot Rolled), CR16g + Padding (Cold Rolled), S18g + Padding *Stainless) and so forth - listed this way due to character length limitations in Etsy's listing UI. NOTE about Hot-Rolled Steel:
The gray finish is a result of the steel manufacture process. The resulting patina may vary from sheet of steel to sheet of steel. Additionally, this patina can easily be scratched in the gorget production / shipping process. We do our best to protect the steel during production, however, if ordering our Hot-Rolled model please be aware it may arrive with slight scratches to the patina. discount That said, hot rolled steel is slightly more rust resistant than cold rolled.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to the current political/economic climate resulting in tariffs on metal, the prices of many sheet metals (including mild and stainless steel) have been on the rise. Due to this the cost of production of this gorget will likely change ever month or so, so do not be surprised if cost increases. We do our best to keep the cost as low as possible, but we do need to cover our overhead. Thanks for understanding.
