FYI: The "Favorite Bavaria" mark was used by the C. Hutschenreuther Co. from Bavaria Germany as a special export mark for US Market. The US based importers of these wares were Burley & Tyrrell Co of Chicago IL. It was then registered to an art studio owned by one, Jacob H Stouffer who employed some of the best artisans of the time. His studio operated from 1905 to 1932 -Thank you, Peter Holland , publisher of figurines-sculpture.com for shedding light on mystery marks and makers.
The McKinley Tariff Act of 1890 stated all imported goods must be stamped with the country of origin. This helped to collect import taxes on finished china & porcelain pieces. Tensions were high with this newly imposed tax rate of 60% so after much deliberation the tariff was revised allowing a 5% disc fee on non decorated items.
