Nice pair of not so common handwrought silver acorn buttons. One is marked Taxco HA 940 and the other one isn't. They are in good condition and are approximately 30.10mm. ( 1 1/4") in length. The one that is stamped is 5.4grams and the unmarked is 4.5 grams.
Hector Aguilar was born in 1905, he apprenticed under William Spratling at a young age, and by the age of 30, he was the top shop manager for William Spratling. Inspired by Aztec and Mextex art, Aguilar preferred to work with purer silver (rated at 940 rather than the customary 925 of Sterling Silver).
These have not been cleaned and have a loop shank. discount
