Vintage hand painted gold on ENAMEL large pendant necklace depicting SEA DEVIL with urn - half man discount half fish - with gold metal chain

Mythology is not a strong point of mine, so I shall only describe what I see.

The enamel work forms the background of the piece and is a mixture of colours, mostly reddish brown, with hints of green, copper. The illustration has been hand painted in gold on top discount of the enamel.

The painting is very intricate indeed and shows great detail - depicting a half fish - half man devil figure. He has an urn in his hands and looks to be pouring something out of it.

The top edge of the oval shows the enamel to be thinner - not damaged as such, looks like this happened during the creation of the pendant. Back of pendant is plain cobalt enamel.

A vintage gold tone chain is attached, it is a thick chain, very long and a unique link design, no clasp
