This rare little trinket box is a joy! It is modeled in the shape of a vintage steamer trunk and has banding, clasps, and buckles in relief on the surface.

The centre of the lid has a souvenir emblem of the Capitol Building in Washington DC.

The interior of the little box is lined with pale blue silk and finished with rope design edging.

The trunk sits on ball feet, it even has a central ball in the middle of discount the back, which would have been used when packing and unpacking a steamer trunk.

The attention to detail is second to none and the metal is still shiny and textured.

This little box probably dates from the 1930s, at the height of Ocean going travel. This little box would have been an upmarket souvenir from a trip to the United States.

The box is very heavy for its size and is really quite exquisite.

There is a small amount of wear on the bottom of the ball feet through use.
