Handwoven Table Runner, Plant/Vegetable Dyed WOOL, Cloth Strip Runner, discount Rag Cloth Traditional Weaving Technique, Size: 12" W x 42" L
Hello! I have been weaving since 1977, and create handwoven mug rugs, cloth strip rugs, runners, chenille handwoven rugs and floor textiles. In 1996, I developed several original styles and I continue to use these color themes in my weaving today. My focus has been on home decor. On occasion, I also weave sashes, shawls, and scarves.
Note on the Handwoven Colors: Photographed in natural lighting conditions, and all photographs reflect actual colors as closely as possible.
I believe you'll find this handwoven cloth strip runner to be a special accent for small tables, bookcases, end tables, and would be a nice centerpiece for larger tables too. An heirloom handwoven for your home.
My handwoven cloth strip runner is a colorful striped design, and measurements are 12" wide x 34" long with 4" braided fringe on either end (total length with fringe is 42"). This weaving is woven using a strong and durable cotton/poly warp of a chestnut brown color that will last for many years and is color-fast. It's woven using hand-cut cloth strips of 100% wool as weft, and discount hand-dyed using environmentally-friendly mordant Alum. Veggie colors are combinations of: Walnut hulls, Malabar Spinach berries, Hibiscus flowers, Phaeolus schweinitzii mushrooms (aka Dyer's Polypore), Marigold flowers, and Red Onion Skins. The work is handwoven in a weaving pattern called tabby weave. Note: The design also uses a deep, dark brown color that is not vegetable dyed.
Each handwoven weaving is accompanied by a style label, care label, description label, and one of my brochures.
Care instructions for this handwoven are as follows:
