Vintage Coro Sterling Silver Floral brooch
This lovely sterling silver brooch was made in the 1940's and is signed Coro STERLING. This floral piece is fabricated to be a detailed and 3D bouquet of five lovely flowers made of sterling silver. The flowers look to be five long stem roses tied together with a silver ribbon. Each flower has three layers of petals with five or six petals per layer. The bottom of the flowers are bent to the right to create a nice gestural line. The bal of this piece has a plaque with the Coro sterling signature and a pin with a "C" clasp.
Measures 3 5/8" X 2" X 5/8". This brooch is in good vintage condition. The silver has a natural patina from age which I left as is. One petal in the bottom right flower has a bit of a bend to it. I dodont notice at first but i think that the clasp may have originally been a rolling locking clasp but rolling parts are not there any more so it is now just a simple C clasp but works fine.
The famous Coro discount jewelry line was founded in New York by Emanuel Cohn and Carl Rosenberger in 1901 and incorporated in 1913. A factory was established in Providence, Rhode Island in 1911.
