This is a beautiful oval ornate silver tray. The tray was discount made by Rogers and Bros Meriden CT. Marked on the bottom quadruple plate 101.
The tray was most likely given as a special gift. It is monogramed and dated. On one end of the tray are the initials MJA and on the other end of the tray is the date Sept. 27 ‘98. This refers to 1898!
The tray measures 13” long by 7.25” wide. It is in excellent vintage condition showing some wear and tarnish, but lovely patina. It is a decorative ornate tray with small beaded edges all around. The center of the tray is has an etched design and both sides a raised ornate decorative design.
This tray may have been used as a bread tray or more likely a vanity tray for jewelry. It is really a lovely antique collectible piece and would make a beautiful wall or shelf display! A rare
find!
