Edwardian discount Antique Grocers Shop Tin Lithographed Price Sign | Enamel Sign Dated c.1900 | Early Antique Advertising
This is a listing for ONE antique Edwardian grocers price sign. A total of two are available to purchase, and they are wonderful pieces of antique shop advertising ephemera.
Made of tin, with an enamelled face, the use of bold font and the contrasting light and dark blue colours really stand out on these antique pieces. I can just imagine how colourful the food discount displays would have looked with an array of signs like this on display in the shops.
Dating from around 1919, these grocers spikes are in fair condition for their age. There are some scratches to the surface on both the signs, as well as patches of oxidisation on their backs. This is more notable on the 1 1/2 sign, where there is also a small amount of loss on the right hand side of the sign. However, the colouring and typography is still very clear.
Both signs would make a wonderful display item as part of a kitchenalia collection or hung on a kitchen wall.
They are available to purchase individually, although savings on combined shipping are available, so please get in touch if you're interested in purchasing them together.
